Blackjack Hall of Fame

In 2002, professional gamblers around the world were invited to nominate great blackjack players for admission into the Blackjack Hall of Fame. Seven members were inducted in 2002, with new inductees every year afterwards. The physical hall of fame is located at the Barona Casino in San Diego, California. Members include Edward O. Thorp, author of the 1960s book Beat the Dealer which proved that the game could be beaten with a combination of basic strategy and card counting; Ken Uston, who popularized the concept of team play; Arnold Snyder, author and editor of the Blackjack Forum trade journal; Stanford Wong, author and popularizer of the “Wonging” technique of only playing at a positive count, and several others.
Inductees
The current members of the Blackjack Hall of Fame are the following:
* Al Francesco, 2002, one of the founders of the concept of blackjack teams. Considered one of the most famous players of all time.
* Peter Griffin, 2002, , mathematician and author of The Theory of Blackjack.
* Arnold Snyder, 2002, author and editor of Blackjack Forum, the professional trade journal.
* Edward O. Thorp, 2002, author of the 1960s Beat the Dealer which proved that the game could be beaten with a combination of basic strategy and counting.
* Ken Uston, 2002, author who popularized the concept of team play.
* Stanford Wong, 2002, author and popularizer of a strategy known as “Wonging”, only playing at a positive count.
* Thomas Hyland, 2002, manager of one of the longest-running blackjack teams.
* Max Rubin, 2004, known for media reporting about gambling events, and optimizing casino comps.
* Keith Taft, 2004, inventor who made hidden computerized devices to aid with play.
* Julian Braun, 2005, author who used computers to analyze blackjack statistics.
* Lawrence Revere, 2005, author of Playing Blackjack as a Business.
* James Grosjean, 2006, computer analyst and a player who successfully sued casinos and the Griffin Agency, a detective agency which distributes pictures of counters to the casino surveillance departments.
