Orlando Magic vs. Miami Heat
The Orlando Magic have dominated the Miami Heat lately, all except for one player, Dwyane Wade, but despite Wade having his best career scoring average against the fellow Floridian team, his team has had minimal success.
Wade has gone north of 40 points in the last two losses to the Orlando Magic (11-3). He is averaging 30.7 points in his career against them, and 36.5 points over the past eight games, but the Heat (8-5) have just one win over the past 14 games against Orlando, who are winners of six straight games overall.
Orlando has dominated Miami even more thoroughly at home, winning the past six games by an average of 20.8 points per game.
Conversely the other star in the series has also dominated, but by winning most of his games. Dwight Howard is on an astonishing streak of 12 straight games with a double-double against the Miami Heat, averaging 20.1 points and 14.2 rebounds during the dozen games.
With the new additions to the Magic this season, Howard has been made less of a focal point, but it has improved his shooting percentage to a career-high 62.5 percent even though he is taking an average of 9.1 shots per game, a career-low.
Newcomers Vince Carter and J.J. Redick led the way in Orlandos last game, a 104-96 victory in Toronto with the duo scoring 24 and 19 respectively.
Miami started the season strong but hit a snag with a recent three-game losing streak which was snapped with a 102-10 home victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday with Wade leading the team with 31 points, and was one of five players to finish in double-figures.
