Will a punt hit the Dallas Cowboy scoreboard? Bet on It!
San Jose, Costa Rica, September 28th, 2009 – The new Cowboy Stadium is a tribute to excess. The stadium cost $1.2 billion dollars and features a 160-foot long, 90-foot high HD video screen in the middle of the field. However, a major flaw was exposed this summer in a game vs. the Titans. The scoreboard is either too large or hangs too low and can interfere with punts.
Known for offering some of the best sports odds and diverse entertainment prop bets found online, playblackjack.com has weekly odds on whether or not a punt will hit the new scoreboard.
Dave Johnson, head bookmaker at playblackjack.com, had the following to say regarding the current odds on this prop bet: “Jerry Jones has made it very clear that the NFL signed off on the new scoreboard. He feels the only way a punt can hit the scoreboard is if it is done intentionally. Whether or not its intended or by accident we feel there will be more cases of scoreboard punts this season at Dallas Stadium. With that in mind we decided to have a little fun with it and the response has been terrific. We started offering the odds for the Carolina Panthers MNF game and we have seen alot of money being played on “Yes”. If a punt does hit the scoreboard in the MNF game this week everyone who bet “Yes” will cash in on the 10 to 1 odds or $1,000 for every $100 they bet. As the season progresses we will offer odds for every Cowboys home game. The odds will adjust weekly based on the frequency of expected hits.
Will more punts hit the Dallas Cowboys scoreboard? Make a bet and tune in each week to find out!
Playblackjack.com has re-released the following odds on the Dallas Cowboys scoreboard punts for the October 25th game vs. Atlanta Falcons:
| Yes, a punt will hit the scoreboard | +15 to 1 | Win $1,500 for each $100 bet |
| No, a punt will not hit the scoreboard | -20 to 1 | Win $100 for each $2,000 bet |
• A punt which hits the scoreboard must be re-kicked. For grading purposes the bet above will be graded as action once the ball is re-kicked.
• The bet above is only for punts which hit the scoreboard and not any other type of kick or pass.

now we just sit back and wait for a punter (say… an emergency guy signed two days earlier) to be indicted for betting on his own kick to hit the ‘board.
