Will Charlie Weis be the next coach fired/resign? Bet on it!

San Jose, Costa Rica, September 17th, 2009 – College football is in full-force and so are the rumors surrounding many current head coaches.  With the advent of every NCAA season the list of college coaches on the proverbial hot seat grows longer as each weekend passes.

Known for offering some of the best sports odds and diverse entertainment prop bets found online, playblackjack.com has released odds on which current college football coach will be the first to be fired/resign.

The oddsmakers at playblackjack.com have created an extensive list of the Top 10 coaches on the hot seat.  Obviously, head football coach at Notre Dame, Charlie Weis, is near the top of the list after the loss to Michigan and barely surviving vs. Michigan State.  Also, making the list is Colorado Buffalo head coach, Dan Hawkins, who followed the week 1 loss to CSU with another loss to Toledo. Websites such as www.firedanhawkins.com have been popping up demanding a change in leadership.

Dave Johnson, head bookmaker at playblackjack.com, had the following to say regarding the current odds on this prop bet: “Every NCAA season there is always disappointment when a team underachieves.  The fans want results and when they don’t get them the head coach is usually the first to take the blame. Last weekend after the Notre Dame debacle we received numerous requests for odds on when Charlie Weis will be fired. We decided to list Weis with another nine head coaches who we feel will be under extreme pressure the next few weeks to win.  We expect to take a lot of money on Weis and Hawkins this week.  However, the odds do update throughout the season.  It’s never surprising to us how a big win will quiet the critics and the bettors.  The convincing win over Wyoming last week has quieted the Hawkins critics for now.  We dropped his odds a little based on his salary issue as well as the big win last weekend. Last week you could bet him 3 to 1 and this week he’s up to 5 to 1”

Which college coach will be the next to go?  Only time will tell.
