Will the Madden Curse strike again? Bet on it!

San Jose, Costa Rica, September 16, 2009 – The 2010 Madden NFL cover includes both Troy Palamalu and Larry Fitzgerald.  However, only one of those players is currently active.

Yes, the Madden Curse has struck again.  Last Thursday night Pittsburgh Steeler safety, Troy Palamalu, sprained his medial collateral ligament and will miss anywhere from 3-6 weeks.

The Madden Curse has become more of a reality rather than a myth over the last few years.  Barry Sanders retired in 2000 shortly after gracing the cover. Since then players who have graced the cover and have been injured in the same year include:
2002 Daunte Culpepper (injured and missed 5 games)
2004 Michael Vick (broken leg in preseason)
2005 Ray Lewis (hamstring injury week 7)
2006 Donavon McNabb (torn knee ligament missed last 6 games)
2007 Shaun Alexander (broken foot missed several games)
2008 Vince Young (injured in opener and never regained starting status)

•    Larry Fitzgerald must be listed on the Arizona Cardinals official injury report for a bet to be graded as a winner.

•    If Fitzgerald does not get struck by the curse and remains healthy all regular season the bets will be graded as no-action and all money bet will be returned to the bettor.
