Playing Multiple Blackjack Hands

Different players have different preferences as to how many hands they like to play on a blackjack table. Most play one hand, but many prefer to control the action more by playing more spots. So are a player’s chances affected by playing more than one hand? As far as house advantage goes nothing changes if you play multiple hands.
This is a game where the house edge is less than 1%. That will only apply to the house because they see all the action. Players will have more volatile fluctuations during play and will usually win or lose more than 1% of what they wager, even over long playing sessions.
If a player plays a bet on one hand they will either win or lose the entire bet. There may be a push or 3 to 2 pay out for blackjack. Playing that same amount over multiple hands will produce different outcomes, some winning and some losing. Include the push hands and insurance (if you use it) and the win/loss numbers spread out and make your fluctuations less volatile.
So is it a good thing to lessen the fluctuation of the game? It can certainly make your session less stressful, and will keep you in the game for a longer period of time. But it also lowers the rate that you will win and add to your playing bankroll, so you can decide. If you want to go for faster money bet on one hand. If you want to hang out and drink free drinks on the house, playing multiple hands is a good way to do it.
