When to Quit a BlackJack Game

Everyone seems to have their own opinion on when to quit a blackjack game. Some people say that doubling your buy-in is a good time to quit. Or any time when you’re up 10 units of what you’re betting. These are good ideas on how to get out ahead, but you may be walking away from a winning streak that is about to follow. Or what if that happens after only a couple of minutes of playing; then you can’t play any more. Here’s a system that lets the action dictate when you should get out of a blackjack game.
Let’s say that you have $100 to play with. We won’t get into how to play or how much you bet, that’s different for everyone. If you lose that $100 then you should stop right there. Don’t go to the bank machine or hit your buddy up for more; you lost that day and that’s it.
If luck smiles on you and you manage to double that $100 to $200, take the original $100 and turn it into a black chip. Take that black chip and pocket it. Play with the $100 of winnings until you either lose it or double it. If you lose you walk away even, still having the $100 chip in your pocket. If you double it to $200, convert $100 to another black chip and pocket it and once again play with the remaining $100. Maintain this method, making sure that you never dig into your pocket for the black chips. This system limits your losses while giving you the opportunity to keep winning.
